We took this on the rehearsal day. Unfortunately, i havent received the latest drama pic on Arts Fest day so as sson as i get it, i'll put this up awrights? On 9th July, the DramaInk put up a performance for Arts Fest. It came out great! We had 2 performances , one for the upper secondary level and another for the lower secondary level.
For the upper sec, our enery level was great and it must have been the best performance we had for that play. Better than the rehearsals even!
We blew the audience away and i saw that they were really listening. The upper sec listening! Wow. They paid attention and hun on to every word. They were sitting up straight. Sitting up straight! Its a challenge to get upper sec to listen up to you and sit up straight.
We even acieved our main objective: we touched the audience so much that they cried. They cried.
And Jo(drama instructor) told us that some people luagh when actors act a sad scene because they are shakin it off, they don't want to cry. They may even be looking away, pretending we're not acting that show, trying to show they aren't "softies" and cry.
So we had to peel off their hard, thick skin to bring out who they really are and when they cry, it proves, that they feel us and we have done our part in connecting with the audience. :D
